Ferocious Feargal McCrory blasts his way to another big Belfast stoppage
Feargal McCrory stepped up in level once again tonight and scored another impressive stoppage win.
Fighting on the ‘Belfast Boy’ undercard at the SSE Odyssey Arena, McCrory stopped former BBBoC Midlands Area champion in the second round of a ferocious contest.
The Coalisland super featherweight had brought a huge following from the tiny Tyrone town and they were delighted by their man who overwhelmed his strong and game opponent.
As he always does does, McCrory started very quickly, and landed some meaty hooks on Holt before threatening to bring about an early stoppage as he cornered the Brummie boxer and landed numerous shots to the body and head.
Holt was hurt badly by a well-timed backhand left in the second and McCrory sought to again finish the fight on the ropes. Holt would survive, but only for a few more seconds as referee John Lowey halted the bout following a single right hook to the point of the chin stunned Holt again.
The stoppage, which could be argued was slightly early, sees McCrory improve to 6(3)-0, while the shell-shocked Holt falls to 6(2)-5(3)
