Entertaining business as usual – Fearghus Quinn predicts another eye-catching performance
Fearghus Quinn [2(0)-0] is in the entertainment business and claims it will be business as usual when he climbs back through the ropes this coming Saturday night.
The Belleek southpaw fights for the third time as a pro on Saturday’s #MTKFightNight taking on the game Jan Ardon [2(0)-6(0)] in Bolton.
Quinn has impressed in his opening two bouts and looks to have serious fan-friendly potential. His aggressive approach has certainly caught the eye and he plans to keep entertaining as he progresses through the ranks.
“I think you can expect an exciting fight any time I get in the ring and this weekend will be no different,” Quinn told Irish-boxing.com.
“Camp has been going well, I’ve been training hard this year and I’m delighted to get out and finally get my first fight of 2021.”
The ‘Mighty Quinn’ debuted in a six-rounder against the ever game Robbie Chapman and followed it up with a six rounds points win over ‘Brick Top’ Scott James, another fighter who came into the fight with a winning record.
It suggests manager Jamie Conlan is looking to move him fast and the 24-year-old is happy to oblidge.
“I’m looking to step up against good opponents with every fight and test myself,” he explains.
“I suppose the way it worked out with COVID they were looking to get me good competitive fights and I was happy to get in a couple of six rounders against good opposition. It’s good to test yourself with decent opponents and gain that experience for further down the line,” he adds before stressing he hopes Saturday is the start of a very busy year for him.
“I’d like to get as many fights and as much experience under my belt this year. Hopefully I’ll keep winning and keep very active.”
