Dynamite Cummings guns down Riojas in El Paso
CONRAD Cummings didn’t waste his opportunity to impress on a massive American fight card on Saturday.
The Coalisland middleweight got Cyclone Promotions off to the perfect start in El Paso stopping Oscar Riojas in the second round of his Stateside debut.
Local boy Riojas (8-1), was meant to represent a step up in class for the 160lbs prospect but lasted less than two rounds with the Shane McGuigan trained fighter.
Cummings landed a clean and heavy right in the second stanza and the fight was stopped 1:27 into the round.
The result was everything Cummings could have wished for on the undercard of Carl Frampton’s IBF title defence against Alejandro Gonzalez jr and pushes ‘Dynamites’ record to seven fights unbeaten.
Cumming Cyclone stable mate Josh Taylor also registered victory on the card, like Cummings the debutant registered a second round knock out.
