‘Hands of Stone,’ a biopic of legendary Panamanian four-weight World champion Roberto Duran, hits US cinemas this Friday.

The movie – starring Édgar Ramírez as Duran, Robert De Niro as his trainer Ray Arcel and Usher as his rival Sugar Ray Leonard – also features Irish boxing star-turned-actor John Duddy.

The Derry Destroyer stars in the film as Scotland’s Ken Buchanan, who held the World lightweight title in the early 1970s but was defeated in his third defence against Duran in 1972, being knocked out at the end of the thirteenth round by a low blow landed after the bell.

It’s actually quite a good likeness.

Hands of Stone, which has opened to mixed reviews, currently does not have an Irish or UK release date.
