Dressing Room Gate resolved – McGuigan reveals it was all mind games
Cyclone Promotions have ‘relented’ and will allow Scott Quigg to prepare for tonight’s super fight with Carl Frampton in the home/star/a-side dressing room.
Bury’s Quigg, who admitted to holding a superstition about the room, had insisted that he use the dressing room in the Manchester Arena as, geographically, he is the home fighter.
Frampton on the other hand had demanded to use the room as a matter of principle as he is the bigger fighter in the match-up.
The issue however has been resolved with Team Frampton backing down and allowing Quigg use of the room, claiming that it was a plan to unsettle Quigg all along.
Cyclone CEO Barry McGuigan revealed to Sky Sports that “we have relented on the dressing room.”
“It was completely a fabrication from our point of view.”
“We knew it unsettled him.”
“It rattled him.”
“He showed his true colours, he has to have all his ducks in order.”
