Dressing Room Gate: Frampton suggests alternative

Dressing Room Gate is continuing to rumble on, but Carl Frampton feels that he and his team have provided another fair resolution.

Cyclone had initially stated their willingness to forfeit the use of the larger dressing room that they felt should be there’s as they were the bigger party in the fight. They proposed to lock the room and for both fighters to use alternative rooms to prepare in.

However, this was deemed unacceptable to Quigg and his team as the superstitious Bury boxer was insistent on using the room, labelling himself the ‘home’ fighter.

‘The Jackal’ admits that his refusal to budge is merely a matter of principle, and that the fight is not seriously in doubt. While Frampton is seemingly unbothered by the affair, it may act as a distraction to Quigg

Speaking to media after today’s weigh in, Frampton explained that, with the ‘lock the room’ option dismissed, he now feels that a toss of a coin is the only acceptable solution to one of boxing’s weirdest sagas.

Matchroom and Quigg have yet to respond publicly to this offer but it is hoped that a solution can be found soon and focus can return fully to the mouth-watering clash.
