Double Dublin Delight – more boxing for the capital

Dublin fight fans got a taste for boxing again when FS Promotions and Ricky Hatton brought pro action back to the city in June.

A packed card was well-supported and, as fight fans left the first purpose built boxing stadium in the World and headed down the South Circular Road, there was agreement that it was a solid first step towards more regular and entertaining action in the city.

If rumours around the capital are to be believed, that hope was well placed.

FS Promotions expressed a desire to return to the Stadium with an even better show as early as September, and there was early talk of a possible December show among fighters following ‘The Future’ fight night.

The good news however does not end there, and Irish-boxing.com believes that another new promoter is about to come onto the scene and put on a show in the Stadium in November. Indeed some local boxers have already been approached about trading leather on the card.

With FS Promotions close to confirming an exciting September card, Mark Dunlop set for an October show in Belfast, the Stadium seemingly booked for a Dublin November fight night and FS Promotions hopeful of a December fight card, Irish fight fans could have a show a month to look forward to once the Summer is done.

And that’s not even factoring in a potential Carl Frampton homecoming!
