Donnelly hoping to make it two from two in WSB

Former Irish Elite champion Steven Donnelly will be aiming to improve to two wins from two in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) in Azerbaijan this weekend.

The All Saints BC welter is due to line out for the Hussars of Poland away to the Baku Fires in Guba on Saturday night.

Donnelly won four of the five rounds versus Madiyav Ashkeyev to secure victory on his WSB debut for the Poles versus the Astana Arlans in Poland last month.

But the Arlans won the five-bout match 3-2. The Hussars are in third spot in Group B  – one point ahead of Paddy Barnes’ and Michael Conlan’s Italia Thunder, pictured below in WSB action last weekend.
