Details of Mick Conlan’s second pro fight

Mick Conlan [1(1)-0] will be back in the ring in the very near future following his unprecedented debut earlier this month.

The Belfast super bantamweight headlined a sold-out Theater at Madison Square Garden on St Patrick’s Night, stopping Tim Ibarra inside three rounds to kick off his pro career.

Conlan will be back in the ring in just over six weeks time, and the Irish star wont be taking a step back.

While a specific venue has yet to be confirmed, Conlan will headline yet again in his second professional contest, which will take place in Boston on Friday May 12th.

It’s an encouragingly quick return to action for the Falls Road fighter, as well as being another cross-country trip to an Irish hot-bed on the U.S. East Coast.

Following a week off after his debut, Conlan returned to training at ‘The Rock Gym’ in Carson this week, and told assembled media that “it looks like we’re out again May 12th, Boston, another main event. That’ll be good, I’m looking forward to that.”

The word in the immediate aftermath of his New York pro bow was that his second fight would take place in Boston on the 12th or the 19th of May, and it now seems as though the former date has been decided upon.

It is assumed that the bout will be shown live Stateside as part of the UniMas friday night fight series.
