Debutant Bates: I am feeling sharp and ready for the pro game

CIARAN Bates promising Irish fight fans action ahead of his pro debut.

The Tallaght native punches for pay for the first time at the Holiday Inn on Friday night and is hoping to impress Belfast fight fans en route to a first pro win.

The light welterweight, who fights fellow novice Muhaly Szalontai, is excited about ditching the vest and is in confident mood ahead of his debut.

“I am very excited to be making my debut. I have wanted to turn pro for some time now and I am looking forward to Friday night,” he told Irish-boxing.com.

“Fight fans can expect a come forward box fighter style from me and I hope to bring excitement. I am really looking forward to getting in there now and getting things rolling. For now I’m just concentrating on this fight. I will take it one fight at a time, but as you will expect I am in this game to become a World champion.”

The former Irish amateur International and Intermediate champion has is confident his pre fight camp will give him the perfect platform to produce a performance.
Myhas gone very well for this fight iv gotten some great sparring from my brother george bates who is on the high performance team and pro stephen ormand and am feeling sharp and ready .
