2015: Carl Frampton made his U.S. debut and was shockingly put down twice in the opening round by the unknown Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. The Jackal rallied to score a unanimous points victory in El Paso and retain his IBF super bantamweight title. Frampton would later muse that his below-par performance in Texas was one of the catalysts for the making of the long-awaited showdown with Scott Quigg.
