On This Day: July 14th

2012: In what was the biggest fight of his career, Spike O’Sullivan defeated Matthew Hall via unanimous decision at Upton Park. Fighting on the David Haye-Dereck Chisora undercard, the Cork middleweight took the win on the cards (117-111 x2, 115-114) after a close and tough twelve rounds which some believe should have gone Hall’s way.

July 14th is also Spike’s birthday, and the big-punching Mahon man is 32 today.
