Darragh Foley’s big fight on Saturday to be streamed live and free

The big fight of Irish interest this weekend comes on Saturday morning in Australia.

Here at the Doltone House in Sydney, Blanchardstown light welter Darragh Foley [10(7)-2(0)] will defend his WBA Oceania title for a second time in what is the chief support bout on the night.

Super Foley, ranked #15 with the WBA, takes on Filipino Sonny Katiandagho [11(6)-1(0)] as he looks to climb the ladder currently topped by Scotland’s Ricky Burns.

The South East Asian is on a hot run of form, following a good 2016 where he claimed wins against undefeated Korean Hyun Woo Yuh and undefeated Dutchman Rafik Harutjunjan, as well as a victory over Stevie Ongen Ferdinandus

28 year old Foley won the rankings title back last July, exerting revenge over Joebert Delos Reyes with a sixth round stoppage, before defending it on points in December against veteran Argentine Sergio Eduardo Gonzalez.

The Dubliner, who has called out Phil Sutcliffe Jr, has spent time training in Miami for this fight.

Also featuring on the card Down Under is an OPBF welterweight title fight between Jack Brubaker and Mark Sales, an OPBF cruiserweight title fight between Jai Opetaia and Randall Rayment, as well as appearances for Luke Boyd, Brock Jarvis, Ben Savva, and Tim Tszyu.

The card will be streamed live and free on the Aus-Boxing Facebook page from 9:30AM (Irish time).
