Darragh Foley anticipating ‘mental’ night on March 12th

Darragh Foley tops the bill on March 12th at the Sydney Olympic Park, and the Dublin lightweight is expecting a special atmosphere.

‘Super’ Foley [8(6)-1(0)] challenges for Brandon Ogilvie’s [14(7)-1(1)] WBA Oceania title and a World ranking on a card which will be shown live on Australian TV and streamed across the globe via epicentre.tv.

Ahead of the bout next month, a confident Foley told T2T Boxing that “the training’s done, I’m ready to go tomorrow.”

“I train very hard, nobody can keep up with me.”

Indeed the explosive Australian champion promises to be better than ever come fight night, explaining that “I have finished up work so I’m boxing full-time now which is a benefit more than anything.”

“I wouldn’t say I’m doing more work, but it just gives you more time to rest during the day whereas my rest used to be eight hours on a building site with the sun beating down on you.”

The charismatic Dub has carved out a sizable fanbase among the emigrant population Down Under and acknowledged that “the Irish, they always get behind us.”

“Even if there’s ten Irish in the room and a thousand Aussies, they’ll drown them out.”

“It’s a week before St Patrick’s Day in Sydney – it’s going to be mental!”

“They’re like friggin’ football hooligans.”
