Dana White tells Mayweather to get in touch if he wants to get it on with McGregor
Dana White thinks it’s would be nigh on impossible for boxing legend Floyd Maywether and UFC featherweight World champion Conor McGregor to fight, but the UFC boss said he is open to hear what ‘Money’ has to say on the matter.
Rumour Mayweather and former Crumlin Boxing Club amateur McGregor were in talks re fighting broke this week and although most seen it as a form of publicity generator on the weekend of Canelo vs Khan neither camp denied the speculation.
Indeed, 49-0 Mayweather suggested he may have started the rumour and Mcgregor was tweeting mock McGregor Mayweather fight posters.
Dana While had his say on the matter this week and claimed the fight would be all but impossible to make.
“Let me put it to you this way,” White said Thursday on ESPN’s “Russillo & Kanell.” “
Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are in the same sport. It took how long for those two to fight? Now imagine how hard it would be to get (Mayweather and McGregor) to fight. They’re not in the same sport.”
“Is this thing going to be MMA or boxing rules? Who’s getting the lion’s share of the money? This and that,” White said. “It’s impossible. But like I’ve said, ‘Floyd, you want to fight Conor, call me.’ ”
