Current Irish Heavyweight rankings

Ireland can boast the heavyweight champion of the World at the top Boxing Union of Ireland’s rankings.

It’s a division that has jumped to the fore over the last 12 months and not just because Fury dethroned long reigning champ Wladimir Klitschko on that infamous night in Dussledorf.

The addition of Sean ‘Big Sexy’ Turner means Fury and Martin Rogan are not the only characters in the division.

Nial Kennedy also brings something different to the table in terms of style and out of the ring approach. With Con Sheehan joining the ranks in January the heavyweight scene domestically can become big hitting in more ways than one.
