Cummings registers big knock out win in Wales

Conrad Cummings kept Irish boxers 100 percent knock out record over the weekend with an impressive stoppage win at the Ice Arena Cardiff on Saturday night.

Gary Sweeney and Ciaran McVarnock registered first round wins in Bolton on Friday while Paddy Gallagher stopped Tony Dixon before three minutes were out on the same card as Cummings.

The Coal Island man didn’t get the job done within before the first stanza was out, but did register the fourth stoppage of his career.

‘Dynamite’ stopped local lad Frankie Borg in the sixth round of their six round contest.

The Cyclone Promotion prospect had the fighter, who holds a win over former European champion Kerry Hope, down in the fourth and finally got the job done in the sixth.

The win improves Cummings record to 9-0-1 and should move him closer to another title tilt.
