Cummings has learnt from Meli fight -ready for titles, says McGugian
Irish boxing legend Barry McGuigan expects Conrad Cummings to buckle a significant title around his waist before 2016 is out.
The Coal Island middleweight has secured another fight on a big TV show and will trade leather with former Chris Eubank Jr foe Frankie Borg in Cardiff on May 14.
The Shane McGuigan puncher goes into the clash on the back of a win on the massive Frampton versus Quigg undercard having drawn in an enthralling Celtic title clash with Alfredo Meli.
McGuigan claims the undefeated 24 year old has learnt from the war with the Belfast fighter, who will challenge for the Commonwealth light middleweight title on April 30, and predicts he will make significant strides forward this coming year.
Conrad is back on track after the draw with Meli. He has learned from that fight and now I would expect him to be knocking on the door of a Commonwealth title or something like that by the end of the year,” said McGuigan when speaking to the Belfast Telegraph.
“This could be a very good year for him. We just want to keep him moving forward with the right fights at the right time.”
