Creagh scores crushing stoppage win at Red Cow
While his Puerto Banús buddies will be fighting tomorrow night at the National Stadium, Sean Creagh got the ball rolling for MGM this weekend with a win at the Red Cow Moran Hotel. Facing tricky English southpaw Lewis O’Mara, Creaghsy was in superb form, putting in a gut-wrentching display of body punching.
The clash came after a fifty minute delay, but it was certainly worth the wait.
The Dublin welterweight began with purpose, patiently stalking his opponent and throwing countless hooks to the body when in range, leaving O’Mara with a severly reddened midsection.
The former White Collar fighter continued his impressive work in the second round, walking down a tired retreating O’Mara.
Creagh stepped up a gear in the third, immediately scoring with a huge shot right hook to the head, stunning O’Mara. Creagh then went on the hunt, throwing massive shots and bullying the Portsmouth puncher around the ring. Indeed it was only a matter of time before the Dubliner ended the contest – landing a flurry of blows that sent the Englishman almost through the ring only for him to be held up by Creagh cutman Tommy McCormack before ref Emile Tiedt jumped in to stop the contest after 1:23 of the penultimate round.
The result was greeted with massive cheers from the huge MGM crowd in attendance and certainly bodes well for the atmosphere tomorrow night at the National Stadium.
With the win, Creagh stretches his unbeaten record to three fights with one knockout, while respected journeyman O’Meara moves to 3(0)-12(2).
