Conrad Cummings to face dangerous Georgian on Frampton undercard
Conrad Cummings will not be given a soft touch in his return to the ring following his draw with Alfredo Meli in Belfast last November.
The Tyrone boxer is scheduled to appear on the Carl Frampton undercard in less than two weeks time alongside fellow Irishmen Ryan Burnett, Luke Wilton, and Marco McCullough.
‘Dynamite’ Cummings [7(3)-0-1] will be looking to impress on the PPV undercard of his stablemate’s showdown with Scott Quigg.
The Coalisland middleweight jumps straight back into an eight rounder against Giga Nadiradze [18(9)-7(3)-1]. The experienced Georgian comes into the bout at the Manchester Arena on the back of a three fight winning streak following his knockout loss to Spanish middleweight champ Ruben Diaz.
While he carries a strong record, Nadiradze has never won outside of his homeland, being knocked out on the three occasions he left Georgia. Regardless, it still promises to be a test for Cummings against a fighter who has more knockout wins than the Irishman has had fights.
Cummings is currently preparing alongside Frampton in Shane McGuigan’s Battersea Gym to ensure an eye-catching victory over the Eastern European before setting his sights on a rematch with Belfast’s Meli.
Also announced for the undercard is an opponent for Cyclone’s Scottish light welterweight star Josh Taylor [3(3)-0]. The Tartan Tornado, a former amateur stand-out, will face French southpaw Lyes Chaibi [14(2)-9(1)].
