Connor Coyle receives Golden Boy boost
Connor Coyle‘s esteemed trainer has remarked that he is moving the Derry man faster than any of his previous fighters, and now ‘The Kid’ will make another big career step.
The Jim McLoughlin-trained light middleweight returns to the ring next weekend as he looks to move to 6-0, and his fight will be shown live as part of a Golden Boy broadcast.
Coyle [5(3)-0] takes on Joshua Maxwell [2(2)-0] over six rounds at the A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa, Florida on Saturday August 12th.
The show will be headlined by Brazilian Yamaguchi Falcao [13(6)-0], a bronze medalist at the 2012 Olympics and a current Golden Boy fighter.
Therefore, the card will be streamed live worldwide via the GBP-owned RingTV.com as well as Fite.tv, with Florida’s former lightweight world champ Nate Campbell in the commentary box.
Coyle has been sparring recently with Falcao (pictured) in his St Petersburg base ahead of what will be his fourth fight in the Sunshine State.
The Fire Fist card next week also features two-time world title challenger Cesar Seda as well as another Derry boxer, super bantamweight John Cooley [2(0)-0], who takes on Joseph Cole [0-2(1)].
It is hoped that Cooley’s fight will also be shown.
