Conlan takes Northern Ireland squad Down Under

The Northern Ireland boxing squad are heading Down Under for a training camp ahead of next month’s Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa.

The 2015 Youth Commonwealth Games begin on the Pacific island on September 5th. 107 gold medals will be up for grabs in nine sports at the tournament.

The squad fly out to Australia today for a 13-day training camp with the host nation and the Philippines before travelling to Samoa.

“The team are looking forward to a good camp and working with the Australian and Philippines national teams,” said Irish coach John Conlan, who will be working the squad’s corner with Damien Kennedy in training camp and at the Games.
