The little men of Belfast will grace the big stage soon and bring big time boxing back to Belfast according to Jamie Conlan.

‘The Mexican’ tops a Boxnation-broadcast bill in his home city on November 5th at the Titanic Exhibition Centre – and looks set to be joined on a stacked card by Paddy Barnes.

Barnes yesterday confirmed that he had signed a management agreement with MGM, and becomes a Conlan stablemate as a result. Conlan is predicting more big nights as suggests the flyweight and super flyweight will soon soar.

The Commonwealth champion is pleased that his friend and Irish amateur legend has joined the stable, despite the fact he believes translation duties lay ahead, and suggests that together they could become the biggest ‘wee men” since wee man of Jackass fame.

“The wee men will be on the big stage soon!” an excited Conlan told Irish-boxing.com.

“I think together with myself and the stable of Belfast fighters signed to MGM we have a great chance to bring regular, big, and exciting fight nights to the city.”

“I will also double as Paddy’s translator during press conferences in the future!”

With an undefeated record, an increasing profile, and a number of ranking belts alongside his Commonwealth title, the popular super fly is fast closing in on World level – and he believes it won’t be long until Barnes joins him.

“I think it’s a brilliant move for Paddy. MGM will have Paddy’s best interests at heart and look to manage him in the right direction.”

“Paddy’s wealth of experience in the amateur code will give him the opportunity to get moving along quickly and, as you seen with Charlie Edwards, they have contacts in the lower weight classes to provide the opportunity for Paddy to achieve his dream of becoming World champion.”
