Comeback victory for Alfredo Meli

Belfast’s Alfredo Meli returned from over a year of inactivity tonight with a win in England.

The Immaculata middleweight last fought in November 2015 when he drew with Cyclone starlet Conrad Cummings for the BBBoC Celtic title. Out of the ring since then, Meli has signed with Macklin’s Gym Marbella, and was in action on the ‘Jingle Brawls’ card at the Tudor Grange Leisure Centre in Solihull, Birmingham.

The stylish southpaw took on Wiltshire 21 year old Anthony Fox, and shook off the rust with an assured six-round points win, taking the fight 60:55 on the scorecards.

The return victory sees Meli move to 12(3)-0-1, while Fox falls to 1(0)-2(1).

Meli will be looking to get back in the ring as soon as possible, and is a strong contender for the Belfast Boxnation show next February.
