Collins thinks Hyland can give him first world champ in their first fight together

The first time Pascal Collins ever worked a corner he was part of a team that shocked the World.

The Celtic Warrior boss’ first dialance with training was with big Kevin McBride as he helped prepare the Monaghan heavy for his bout with Mike Tyson.

Granted Tyson was past his best and all quit in the clash before retiring in the ring post fight, but it was still a win that made noise around the World.

Collins, is hopeful Hyland can make similar waves in his first fight under his tutelage. Indeed he is confident ‘The Punisher’ has what it takes to give the trainer of Gary O’Sullivan, Steve Ormond and more his first World champion.

“This is my first fight with Pajo and I could have my first World champion! My first fight with Kevin McBride and he beat Mike Tyson! So it can be done and it’s not new to me. There is always a first and Pajo can shock the World,” Collins revealed before suggesting he thinks Team Russell are over looking the Jobstown native and underestimating his ability to get the job done.

“I think they are over looking Pajo they because they are already talking about fights down the line. Sometimes fighters who look beyond fights can’t get up for those fights. We don’t need him to over look us but if he does all the better. This is a potential banana skin for Russell.”
