Ciaran Mullen delighted with debut victory

Dublin super middleweight Ciaran Mullen made a winning professional debut at the weekend in Marbella on the MGM Promotions ‘Lights Out at the Plaza’ dinner show.

‘The Dark Horse’ secured a 40-36 points victory in the opening bout of the night and afterwards spoke to YouTube channel iFilm London TV about his entry to the pro ranks.

Mullen, who had been away from the sport for a period, was happy with how he performed, revealing that “I felt very good, I’m happy to be back.”

“I wanted to get the rounds in, I wanted to get the feeling back, I wanted to get my timing right, I wanted to get the movement going right.”

“I didn’t want to just go in and blow out all my energy and take my opponent out, I wanted to enjoy myself

The 22 year old is delighted to be an MGM fighter and was highly complementary of the Puerto Banús outfit, describing the gym as being “absolutely buzzing at the minute!”

“It’s a great bunch of lads – it’s not only great training, you also have very good fun, everyone gets on great, it’s amazing.”

When asked about his future plans, the Dub has a busy schedule, with his next fight being in “October in England I think, and then hopefully get out again in November 7th in my home town at the National Stadium.”
