Christina McMahon becomes Ireland’s third reigning World champ
IRELAND’S only pro female fighter Christina McMahon has become the countries latest World champ.
The Monaghan native buckled the Interim WBC World female bantamweight title around her waist after victory in Africa tonight.
The 40 year old out pointed Catherine Phiri in Zaire to claim the strap in just her seventh pro outing.
Speaking after the fight the former kick boxing World champ said
“Catherine Phiri is the hardest opponent I have faced in 20 years and I can bet you any money she will become World champion.”
