Celtic Title shot for Anto Cacace

Talented Belfast super featherweight Anto Cacace [12(5)-0] has secured himself a shot at the BBBoC Celtic title.

‘The Apache’ will travel to Scotland to face Dundee southpaw, Ronnie ‘The Shark’ Clark [13(7)-2(0)-2]. The battle of the lefties will take place in Edinburgh’s Meadowbank Sports Centre on Friday October 16th.

30 year old Clark, four years Cacace’s senior, constitutes a step-up in class for the former Irish champ. Clark has held Ryan Walsh (who challenges for the British featherweight title next month) to an impressive draw, as well as dropping a tight split decision to Troy James (who challenges for the British and Commonwealth super featherweight titles in October).

The Belfast man however feels up to the challenge and explained that “this is the level an kind of opponents I want to be fighting.”

Part of the Cyclone Promotions stable, Cacace’s assault on the Celtic title somewhat mirrors that of current IBF super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton who won the Celtic belt back in 2010.
