Summer Celtic Clash show announced

The next instalment of the popular Celtic Clash series has been confirmed.

The Boxing Ireland and Tony Davitt Promotions series will have its sixth edition – and fifth in thirteen months – on Saturday June 16th.

Following Celtic Clash 5 last month at Good Counsel GAA club, Celtic Clash 6 will return to the same intimate venue in Drimnagh.

Boxing Ireland boss Leonard Gunning said that “after an unbelievable atmosphere at Celtic Clash 5, we are returning to Good Counsel and we are going to ram it out. It’s going to be a Bobby Dazzler of a show.”

“It will be a big bill with a lot more fights than last time.”

“We’ll be getting the lads out, keeping them very busy before the Summer holidays, then there are big plans for the second half of 2017.”

Seven fights took place on the show three weeks ago and it is believed there could be as many as twelve contests on the Celtic Clash 6 card.

No fighters are currently confirmed for the bill but one can assume the majority of the Boxing Ireland and Tony Davitt stables will feature.

The announcement ensures that June will be a busy month for Irish boxing with Mick Conlan’s homecoming also due to take place on June 30th while Jay Byrne’s inaugural promotion is set to occur at some stage during the Summer months as well.
