Celtic Clash 11 crew confirmed- three fighters secure Spanish date

Three of the five places available to Irish fighters on Celtic Clash 11 have been filled.

Within a day of Boxing Ireland confirming they were taking the series on the road three fighters have confirmed they will compete on the road and on the show.

It has been confirmed that Boxing Ireland Promotions will run the eleventh edition of their fight series in the city of Murcia on Sunday December 20th.

Promoter Leonard Gunning will put on a show at the Pabellón Príncipe de Asturias basketball arena. Irish-boxing.com understands Spanish Covid restrictions mean only five fighters can appear on the card – and three of them have confirmed themselves.

It’s operation fifth pro win for ‘The Operator’ as he looks to extend his unbeaten start to pro life next month.

Owen O’Neill [4-0] will trade leather against a yet to be confirmed opponent on the card as he fights abroad for the first time since turning over.

It’s also the Belfast fighters first fight since the first day of February, by all accounts he has been working hard on improving under Dee Walsh – and an improved version of the entertaining ticket seller should be on display.

Sligo welterweight Aaron Gethin [4-0] is another going on the road for the first time. The Tony Davitt managed Boxing Ireland promoted southpaw has impressed since turning over and will look to further alert fans to his presence on the scene with an impressive display.

Dominic Donegan is another who will get the chance to have a pandemic punch up. ‘Da Bomb’ returns to Spain for the second time in his career. The Solider will be happy to get rounds in with a Celtic title fight with stablemate Eddie Treacy on the horizon.
