Cazares is in for a double surprise come April 4 says Frampton

WITH two world titles victories, a 49 fight CV and a well stamped passport there is a bit of a been there, done that, wore the t-shirt feel to Hugo Fidel Cazares.

But the WBC world number 1 ranked contender will be wearing a surprised look on his face when he trades leather with Carl Frampton in Belfast on April 4, suggests ‘The Jackal’.

Having fought outside of his native Mexico in Panama, America and Japan Cazares has gone to great lengths to stress he won’t be fazed by Frampton’s support which is as sizeable as it is vocal.

‘El Increible’ , who has reigned as World champion at two weights, has also stated having watched Frampton previously he has his style figured out.

However, ‘The Jackal’, 27 says the experienced campaigner could be shocked by both the Belfast crowd and the Belfast fighter during the pairs WBC world title eliminator.

“He has boxed away from home before in front of large crowds but he will never heard or witnessed anything like Belfast. As is says on the billboards for the fight – ‘This Is Belfast’ – and Cazares will know he is in Belfast. Of that I have no doubt,” Frampton said at the This Is Belfast press conference.

“He might be surprised. I read that he had watched my fights against Raul Hirales and Kiko Martinez when I fought on the backfoot – but I can win going forward or going backwards. It does not really matter as I can do both.It is the toughest fight of my career – I don’t doubt that. He is a great fighter – very smart – but I know I can beat him.”
