Casey targeting European glory

July 30 Nowhere2Hyde press release

Willie ‘Big Bang’ Casey has vowed to become European Super Bantamweight champion in 2012, but he will not be looking beyond his September 3rd fight against tough French man Daniel Kodjo.

The former European and Prizefighter champion’s career has received a major boost since joining forces with Corkman Gary Hyde and Casey has re-located to Belfast to train with Paul McCullagh.

“I am loving the intensive training programme and the technical skills Paul has been teaching me. I feel unstoppable already.  I am looking forward to showing off my new skills in my home town on September 3rd’.

Gary Hyde will promote the show and promises to promote two more professional shows in Limerick before the end of 2011.

“Willie will be kept busy fighting three more times in 2011 and this will provide perfect preparation for his early European title challenge.  The current European Champion Kiko Martinez will defend his title against Carl Frampton in Belfast on September 10th and the winner of this fight must defend the title against Willie in 2012.  Willie who is ranked higher than Frampton will not be stepped over so we will make sure that who ever wins the Martinez-Frampton fight MUST fight Willie in their first defence.  I would be very keen on putting this fight on in Munster and  I promise 2012 will be a defining year in Willie’s career.”
