Carl Frampton builds his Ultimate Boxer
Carl Frampton featured on long-running BBC sports quiz ‘A Question of Sport’ last night.
A second appearance on the famous show, Belfast’s two-weight champion Frampton [24(14)-1(0)] was on Matt Dawson’s team alongside Mark Wood.
To promote the episode, Frampton was asked to build his perfect boxer, picking out individual attributes from different fighters to combine into an unbeatable chimera.
In terms of brains, Frampton chose long-reigning Ukrainian heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko.
For heart, ‘The Jackal’ went for former middleweight champion, and the recently departed, Jake LaMotta.
An orthodox boxer, Frampton’s superstar would have the jab of heavyweight Larry Holmes, while his right hand would be the nuclear backhand of Tommy Hearns.
For chin, Frampton kept close to home, picking childhood hero Wayne McCullough.
Finally, footwork saw Frampton choose the elusive Pernell Whitaker.
Which boxers (past and present) would you use to create an ultimate fighter?
We asked @RealCFrampton for his selections:
