Carl Frampton broke Scott Quigg’s jaw last night

Carl Frampton gave Scott Quigg a boxing lesson in the first half of their World title unification last night, but the Tiger’s Bay star also gave an example of his World class punching power.

Following the highly-anticipated fight it emerged that Frampton had broken Quigg’s jaw in the fourth round with what the Englishman described afterwards as “a peach of an uppercut.”

An adrenaline-filled Quigg fought through the injury, noting that “it was just numb. It felt like I had been to the dentist’s and had an injection.”

The 27 year year old went for x-rays afterwards and this morning had to undergo surgery to repair the injury.

It is imagined that the fracture will keep Quigg out of the ring for a prolonged period of time.
