Caoimhin Agyarko secures York Hall fight date

Exciting middleweight prospect Caoimhin Agyarko [4(1)-0] will return to London for his next fight.

The Belfast fighter enjoyed a successful and entertaining homecoming when he defeated former Scottish title challenger Paul Allison at the Ulster Hall in June.

It’s back across the pond for the Bromley based and trained 22 year-old as he looks to move to 5-0.

The Frank Warren trained middle takes on the well traveled and experienced Chris Jenkinson [11 (4)-67 (12)-3] at the York Hall on the 14th of September.

The stack card will be topped by a super bantamweight British title fight between Brad Foster and Lucien Reid and also plays host to a English light heavyweight title fight between Dec Spellman and Shakan Pitters.

It will be the fifth time the fighter, who won six Irish titles at various levels, appears in the paid ring.

He has impressed in all his bouts to date and has drawn twitter comparisons to Nigel Benn, although he believes his style is somewhat different to the Dark Destroyers.

“I watched a lot of Benn growing up. It’s great to be compared to a great fighter like him. I can’t really see the comparison but I’ll take the compliment,” he previously told Irish-boxing.com.

The former amateur of note has also been asking about Irish title ownership and light middle and middleweight and seems to have his eye on the green strap.

Luke Keeler is currently the middleweight custodian, but no doubt would have no issue vacating as he closes in on a world title fight, while Craig O’Brien is the light middleweight champion.

Dublin’s own ‘The Iron’ looks to be exploring American options, but may like the idea of a high profile fight if Warren could get it on TV.
