Byrne ready to prove the doubters wrong by beating World ranked foe
DEAN Byrne is ready to prove the doubters wrong Carson Jones style when he takes to the ring in Blackpool on Saturday night.
The 30 year old welterweight goes into a clash with world ranked David Avanesyan (19-1-1) as a massive underdog, indeed most don’t give the former Wild Card fighter even a punchers chance.
‘Irish Lightening’, however claims lightening can strike twice and is confident he can upset the odds like he did when he took a last minute fight against American Carson Jones.
Byrne, faced Jones, who caused Keel Brook all manner of problems and stopped Brian Rose, at late noticed, and was awarded a draw in a fight most felt he won. He is hoping to cause a similar upset this coming weekend.
Speaking to Boxing News and Views Byrne, who plans to get busy in 2015 said,
“I am fighting the number 1 welterweight in Russia and he is ranked 22 in the world. I know nobody is giving me a chance but these are the fights that get me going. It is like the Carson Jones fight were people thought he would have me out in a round.
“I am hoping this guy thinks the same. he is only human and as soon as you under estimate someone you get sparked. I will be on the my game and I will be in the fight no doubt about it. Irish lightening will strike again “
