British title fight for Cacace in December?

Top Pro Gif Ad
Celtic super featherweight champion Anto Cacace looks set for a British title fight this December.

The Belfast 27 year old was due to face Frank Warren’s George Jupp in a final eliminator – with the winner then facing the winner of the vacant 130lbs title fight between Andy Townend and Martin J Ward.

However, Jupp has withdrawn from the eliminator bout with the Apache due to an administrative error, leaving the path clear for Cacace.

The BBBoC will now assumedly order the winner of the vacant title scrap between Townend and Ward – which takes place on the Genady Golovkin v Kell Brook undercard  on September 10th – to face Cacace within 90 days.

The talented Irishman has been out of action since winning his Celtic title last October against Ronnie Clark, and will look to shake off the ring rust in a keep-busy bout in Wigan this Saturday.
