British title eliminator for Kofi Yates on Sky show
Kofi Yates [13(1)-1(0)] will aim to put himself in line for a shot at the British title later this month.
The MGM Promotions light welterweight of Irish descent features on the massive Tony Bellew-Ilunga Makabu World title undercard at Goodison Park on Sunday May 29th.
‘Casper’ faces the undefeated Tom Farrell [8(2)-0] on the Sky Sports card in a defence of his BBBoC Central Area title. The bout will also double as an eliminator for the 140lb British title currently held by Matchroom’s Tyrone Nurse.
Speaking today at the press conference to officially announce the ‘Real Life Rocky Story’ card, Yates was unperturbed at the prospect of going into the lion’s den against Everton fan Farrell in four weeks time.
The Manchester-born 24 year old explained that “there is no pressure for me coming here.”
“I’ve boxed everywhere and I’m ready to go.”
