BREAKING: Lee confirms title defence set for Thomond
Yesterday was a day of confusion and mixed messages with the Boxing Union of Ireland claiming that Andy Lee’s WBO title defence against Billy Joe Saunders was confirmed for Thomond Park on September 19th – before Frank Warren later denied that anything was finalised.
However this afternoon Andy Lee himself has confirmed, via Twitter, that the bout will take place on September 19th at the home of Munster Rugby.

Defending his title in Limerick is a dream come true for Lee and, with a possible attendance of 25,000+, the night promises to be an historic occasion in Irish boxing .
