Boxnation made a blunder last night with Irish boxing legend Kenny Egan
Kenny Egan.
10 time National champion. Two-time European bronze medalist. Three-time EU gold medalist. Two-time EU bronze medalist. And most importantly: Olympic silver medalist.
With such a list of achievements, the Neilstown fighter is one of the most well-known boxers in Ireland, but was seemingly unknown to the Boxnation Twitter account operator last night.
Egan poked fun at the record of journeyman Qassim Hussain prior to the journeyman’s bout with lightweight DP Carr on the Frank Warren Copper Box show.
Perhaps assuming Egan was some ‘armchair’ fan, Boxnation challenged the Dublin fight legend as to what his record was.
Safe to say this mishap wasn’t missed by boxing aficianados who were on hand to remind us what Egan’s ‘record’ is.
@boxnationtv @kenegan30 Just the Irish champion ten times, Olympic silver medallist who was a rightful gold, nothing to shout about 😉
