The Boxing World’s disgusted reaction to Conlan ‘loss’
Leading figures throughout the World of boxing unanimously derided the decision by AIBA judges today to deny Mick Conlan at least a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics.
The Belfast bantam, the reigning World champion, was ridiculously adjudged to have lost his quarter final to Vladimir Nikitin, losing on all three cards despite obviously dominating much of the bout.
The reactions of boxing pundits, writers, coaches, current, and past fighters were all of shock and disgust:
