Boxing Ireland Promotions announce another new signing

Boxing Ireland Promotions have rounded off a busy week with the confirmation of another new signing.

Fight dates have been confirmed for Dominic Donegan in London on June 22nd and Owen O’Neill in Belfast the night previous, Jake Hanney looks set to challenge Noely Murphy for the vacant Irish welterweight title in Cork on July 20th, while Stephen McAfee and teen star Katelynn Phelan have both been signed by the outfit.

Now Bray light middleweight Eddie Treacy [2(1)-0] has linked up with the team behind the Celtic Clash series.

‘The Honey Badger’ entered the pros last year under Jay Byrne, bringing an aggressive and honest approach.

The former Novice champion had a sensational knockout debut in October before getting in the rounds in his second fight – on Celtic Clash 7 – in November.

Trained by Mark Buckley alongside Irish Elite light flyweight champ Regan Buckley, Treacy is a popular figure in the sport.

Fight news for the Wicklow puncher will be confirmed shortly.

Treacy said that he is “delighted to sign a deal with Boxing Ireland Promotions. I want to thank Stephen Sharpe and Leonard Gunning for giving me the opportunity.”

“Also, massive thank you to my previous manager Jay Byrne and JB Management & Promotions for everything they did for me.”

“I’m looking forward to getting started with Ireland’s busiest and ever growing stable and I’m looking forward to being involved in some exciting fights in the future.”

“Thanks to my team, my sponsors and everyone for all their continued support. It does not go unnoticed and is very much appreciated.”
