Boxing Ireland announce new signing – the first of many

Boxing Ireland Promotions have kicked off a flurry of signings today with the announcement of Cork-based South African middleweight Jade Karam [9(4)-4(2)-2]

A runner-up at heavyweight in the South African Elite Senior Championships in the amateurs, Karam went on to win the Gauteng middleweight title in the pros.

He has since relocated to Ireland, settling down in Blackpool, Cork.

During the Summer he fought on a big Sky Sports show in London, losing to top prospect Morgan Jones.

He was due to box Belfast super middleweight Pádraig McCrory last Friday for the Celtic Nations title at the Devenish Complex, but this fight was shelved following the cancellation of the entire card.

27 year old Karam is currently scheduled to box Craig Cunningham for the WBC International silver title in Manchester on Friday November 11th.

Boxing Ireland’s Stephen Sharpe said that he is “delighted to be working with Jade, he is a motivated guy with the work ethic and skills to become an interesting addition to our ever growing stable.”

“Jade is the first of a number of new signings we hope to announce within the coming weeks.”

Karam joins Eric Donovan, Sean Creagh, Martin Quinn, Michael Gallagher, Dylan McDonagh, Colin O’Donovan, Kieran Kenny, Declan Trainor, Ryan Peake, Aiden Metcalfe, James Cahill, and Carl McDonald in the Boxing Ireland stable.
