Boxing Ireland add to stable with new signing

Boxing Ireland Promotions have added another fighter to their stable following their return to prominence this year.

The outfit turned over a record number of debutants in 2017 and ran three shows at the National Stadium in Dublin.

Expansion into Belfast is on the agenda for 2018, but another Dublin talent has also been signed.

Boxing Ireland have confirmed that cruiserweight Chris Scuvie has joined the team.

An experienced amateur with Dunboyne, the Congolese-born 26 year old has also fought and won on the semi-pro circuit.

Strong and quick, Scuvie will be trained in the pros by Eddie Hyland and Tommy McCormack alongside new Boxing Ireland stablemates Graham McCormack O’Shea and Carl McDonald, as well as Darren Cruise and Sean Creagh.

Boxing Ireland’s Stephen Sharpe said that “we are delighted to welcome Chris to Boxing Ireland Promotions.”

“With Chris having good amateur he will be an exciting addition to Irish professional boxing.”

“I will look to link him up with Eddie Hyland and Tommy McCormack at Team TNT within the next few days, with the aim of Chris making his debut around March 2018.”
