Boxing back in Belfast – new pro fight card date confirmed for Belfast
Belfast has a fight date to look forward to for the first time since the pandemic hit.
Boxing has not taken place in Ireland since Boxing Ireland Promotions and MTK Global both ran shows in the capital of Irish boxing on February 1st.
There is faint talk of a behind closed doors Dublin show for December, but the first officially confirmed card was announced yesterday and boxing is heading back to Belfast.
MHD Promotions have confirmed they will run a show at the Stormont Hotel on March 31 2021.
In a statement by MHD Promotions confirmed: “It is with great delight we announce that we will be holding a our next “Dinner Boxing” show at the Stormont Hotel, Belfast on Saturday 13th March 2021.
“We have been working closely with the hotel management, local council and the British Boxing Board of Control to adhere to meet all the strict criteria to bring boxing back to Belfast.
“At this time tickets are limited to 120, however we hope that the world will be in a different place next March and that the ticket number will increase.
“A special thanks to A McLean Bookmakers, Northern Ireland’s biggest bookmakers who have been behind us for the last eight years and without them this event would not be possible.Ticket details and an exciting card to follow.”
It’s believed Eric Donovan and Paul Hyland Jr will both appear on the Dinner Show, if they are in need of keep busy work European Champion Tommy McCarthy and James Tennyson may also appear.
