Big Sexy heartbreaker preparing to take Nathan Gorman’s head off on Fury undercard

Sean Turner [12(8)-2(0)] has warned Nathan Gorman that he is one big sexy heartbreaker ahead of their massive fight on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s comeback next month.

The majority of the focus since the fight was announced has been on the English prospect and the undefeated big man has gone as far as to call ‘Big Sexy’ a stepping stone that ‘won’t trouble me in any way’.

However, the 27-year-old Irish heavy is adamant he is going to stop the the Ricky Hatton-trained Gorman [12(10)-0] come June 9th.

The Pete Taylor-trained former National Elite amateur champ claims he is coming to take Gorman’s head off and will employ a seek and destroy strategy that the Crewe fighter will not be able to cope with.

“The difference between Nathan Gorman and myself is that he’s more of a boxer and I’m more of a fighter,” said Turner.

“I’m far more aggressive than him and I’m far more ruthless. I’ve had more fights. I’m going to break his heart on the night.”

Despite Gorman’s easy night predictions, Turner is a step up for him. While the Frank Warren-promoted fighter will be a favourite, Turner’s previous two losses to Filip Hrgovic and Kamil Sokolowski – whom Gorman stopped – may be leading to him being written off somewhat.

However, even though he all but belittled his own skill set this week Turner is an accomplished operator with a good boxing brain and game changing power.

His victory in Switzerland against former David Haye foe Arnold Gjergjaj was one of the most impressive away performances by an Irish fighter in 2017.

Indeed the Shankill sluggers two losses have minor asterisks beside them too, with the Sokolowski defeat being questionable and the Hrgovic loss being little more than a cash grab taken with little notice and even less preparations. Indeed, the fact Turner went the distance with the Croat in such bad condition has, in a way, increased his standing

The Dubliner is confident in his own capabilties and explained how “my chin is 10 out of 10. I’ve been in with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua and the rest of the best in the world. I’ve a granite chin. You can hit me all day and I’ll never go down.”

“He [Gorman] has got fast hands and fast feet and he looks to box. The thing with me is, I come in and take people’s heads off and knock them out cold.”
