Big Rogie dismisses Big Sexy call-out
Over the past few days Sean Turner [8(6)-0] has stepped up his campaign to face Belfast fan-favourite Martin Rogan at the Titanic Centre on November 5th.
The big-punching Dublin heavyweight travels up the M1 for the Boxnation show and desires a clash with ‘Big Rogie,’ especially now that long-time American target Jason Gavern has priced himself out of a fight after demanding a £15,000 fee.
Rogan [16(8)-6(4)] however has dismissed the 25 year old MGM fighters calls for a clash.
The 45 year old feels that ‘Big Sexy’ needs to move up the ranks further before he will share a ring with him.
The former Commonwealth champion has not fought since June of 2014, but argues that the relatively inexperienced Turner needs to develop more before he warrants the fight.
Rogan told Irish-Boxing.com that “I hear Sean Turner is calling me out again… he should just concentrate on getting his rankings out of the 350-something mark.”
Despite his long absence from the ring, the Belfast entertainer has not yet hung up the gloves and could be enticed back onto the Irish scene which features Turner, along with Tipperary’s Con Sheehan and Wexford’s Niall Kennedy.
