Big addition made to Waterford pro show
Pro boxing’s return to Waterford has been handed a boost with the addition of a big name to the bill.
On Saturday February 17th the WIT Arena will play host to Neil Power’s inaugural card – ‘Ring Kings’ – and the show will feature reigning BUI Celtic featherweight champion Eric Donovan [6(3)-0].
‘Lilywhite Lightning’ has this morning been confirmed for the bill – the first pro show to take place in the Déise County since the 1940s.
Donovan will be returning to the ring less than three months after his eight-round win over tough Spaniard Juan Luis Gonzalez in Dublin, and will be looking to build his record up and continue staking his claim for a spot in the European rankings.
The Athy 32 year old joins local trio Rohan Date, Craig McCarthy, and Barry Barnes on the card, with more to be announced in the coming days.
Ireland’s first show if 2018!!!! Step forward Waterford’s ‘Ring Kings’ Craig McCarthy, Rohan Daté and Barry Barnes!
This is the best promo I’ve seen for an Irish show in ages. First show south of Dublin in years and the first in #Waterford for a lifetime. pic.twitter.com/gAmV7zwiJq
