Belshaw closing in on A-Force?

14 September 2008 – by Mark Doyle

Frank Maloney has put Scott Belshaw forward as a potential future opponent for Audley Harrison.

Harrison failed to impress in his latest bid to gain some credibility in the heavyweight division, the 2000 Olympic gold medallist labouring to a points win over George Arias in Manchester on Saturday night.

And while Belshaw is just 10 fights into his professional career, Maloney believes that the 23-year-old from Belfast is up to the task of facing A-Force.

“If Frank Warren is looking for Audley’s next opponent, Scott is ready, willing and more than able to knock out Harrison, he stated.

“People might think I’m mad because Belshaw is so inexperienced, but I would back him to beat Audley who looks scared stiff whenever he fights.”

Belshaw will meet Pavol Polakovic in an eight-rounder at York Hall on Saturday night.
