Avolas to tune up for Frampton with bout in Texas next week
CHRIS Avolas will tune up for a potential World title fight with Carl Frampton with a clash in America next week.
The American is mandatory challenger for ‘The Jackal’s’ IBF super bantamweight World title and rumour has it the duo will clash in February.
Frampton was initially mandated to face the 24-2 fighter in December, but got an extension from the IBF after he injured his hands dethroning Kiko Martinez in front of 16,000 fans in September.
Thus Avalos, who hasn’t fought since he stopped Yasutaka Ishimoto in May, felt the need for a tune up and he will fight Pedro Melo in Events Center, Pharr, Texas on November 8.
